AT&T 1738 40-Minute Digital Answering System with Time/Day Stamp Review
>>>> Buy Low Prices From Here Now ! <<<<
I bought this AT&T digital Answering Machine because it had the features I wanted in a small package for an excellent price. When I first installed it there was a lot of static. But when I put a DSL filter on the line the static disappeared and the voice quality is outstanding! Buy extra DSL filters if you need them (we have 3 DVRs all with a caller-ID feature that need this filter) and put them on EVERY other device you have that plugs into the phone line. Bottom line – this answering machine is excellent.

AT&T 1738 40-Minute Digital Answering System with Time/Day Stamp Specifications
A stand-alone digital answering system, the 1738 lets you expand your current phone to include messaging capability. With 40 minutes of digital recording time, you will be hard pressed to run out of room, even with talkative friends.
A remote message check feature lets you retrieve your messages while you are away from home, and a memo recording feature lets you easily record important information such as driving directions and telephone numbers. If you subscribe to caller ID/call waiting services, the 1738 will let you know who is calling before you pick up the phone, and also saves both the number and time/date of the incoming call along with any message they leave.
You can adjust the playback volume level to suit your liking, while a variable speed playback feature lets you slow down messages, making them easier to understand. A message counter gives you a visual indication of how many messages your system has received, and the Message Guard memory protection ensures that your messages are safe should a power failure occur. Easy to install and use, the 1738 has a 4.63-by-6.5-inch footprint and comes backed with a one-year limited warranty.

Customer Reviews
Sound quality went to crap – Bob Condon – Chicago, IL United States
I bought one of these and within a year, you couldn’t tell what anyone was saying as half the words were garbled. The outgoing message still worked fine, so I kept it and used it as an announcement to call my cell. If I’d needed it to take messages, it would have gone in the trash
Total piece – J. Scott Davis – Napa Valley ,CA USA
I have had one of these for 4 years and it is a total piece of cr@pp. Using it remotely is worthless. Never works checking calls remotely. Never has for me. I can’t believe so many people here have given it 4 or 5 stars!???
WTF. I can’t even seem to find a good answering machine anymore! My old “Phone Mate” analog system was totally dependable and functioning for 13 years. These new digital machines are total junk!
No battery back-up – James R. McDonald – South Carolina
Every frickin time the power hick-ups, this thing looses it mind and you must reset the date-time data… a ten minute ordeal. But, since no one has a reasonably priced machine with true battery back-up, do what I did. Go get a Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS), and put it in front of this unit. Problem solved.
