Lets face it…we have all been there, the power goes out from a storm and now your cordless phone is of no use to anyone…. Every home needs to have a back up corded phone, even if it’s tucked away on the night stand for that occasional use from the power failure or the cordless has a dead battery or your kids hid the phone in the toy chest. The great thing about panasonic products is that it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to use them, this product holds true to that. The quality and design is sleek and modern and you get more bang for your buck with the built in answering machine. Most people today have voice mail through their phone company or cable provider, however, it’s nice to have the back up if you want it, easy to just shut the machine off if you don’t want to use it. Some other reviewers note a cheap feel to the buttons, I have used panasonic products for more than 25years and don’t find this to be the case at all. You will like this phones sleek design and functionality. If you are in the market for a spare house phone, this is the one!

My previous phone was a a Panasonic cordless set similar to this set. It was over 8 years old. Time wore it out, but the technology was ancient too. The sound quality was a particular frustration, but mainly for those on the other end. I could hear everything just fine. When I finally called from my cell to listen to the outgoing message, I realized I needed a new phone (sounded like a quiet whisper.) This phone has taken care of that problem.

The main problem I had with this unit was the directions in the manual. It was not clear that to set the out going message you had to set it from the hand set, not the base. The other problem in the manual, it did not tell me that to set up the time and date from the base unit’s hand set would set it for all the other phones. I started setting time and date in a remote location, then went to the base, then the next remote location. When I went to the third phone, it was already set and that was how I found out the base unit phone would set all the phone time and dates. It is also possible that setting one unit’s time and date sets all units but the delay didn’t catch up until I had reached the third phone. Either way, the directions failed to outline the process. So, the directions in the manual were the areas I felt needed the most improvement.

Overall, I loved the phone.

I bought this as a replacement to my other AT&T Cordless tel. system. The old one was around 7 years old and still worked fine.

Having used this for a few weeks now I love it. More features, easy to use and the price was right.

I did do some research before I selected this model and I happy I bought this.

These AT&T phones are easy to use, have very good sound quality and are easy to program. The display and button backlight and relatively large buttons make it easy to use for most people. Excellent answering machine sound quality.

By the end of the first year, the displays of my three remotes began to deteriorate. After 6 more months of use, all displays were unreadable. Since they were out of warranty, Motorola would not replace them, even though they must have known these had been of defective manufacture. Otherwise it’s a great phone.

The phone is okay. When i got it there were already missing pixils in the screen (bought it brand new) The battery life is very very small. It does have several ringtones which is nice. But is not very loud in my opinion. When the battery is low it begins to malfunction. I dont reconmend it to someone who needs the battery to last.

The phone was delivered promptly and complete as advertised. It was easy to connect and after an easy to follow setup (configuration)it went into service without a problem. I use it with a “hands free” headset and the built in amplifier allows me to easily switch to a higher volume level in addition to being able to adjust the volume through “steps” using the arrow keys. The “amplify” button is separate and a “toggle”. That is, pushing it once greatly increases volume, and pushing it a second time returns to normal volume. Then in each mode, the volume may be stepped up and down with the arrow keys. It has a 50 position phone number memory, which is helpful since I have more than ten contacts and entering contacts is easy. It has a clip to hang on my belt or pants pocket, but past experience has shown me that my hands free headset cord gets hung up on things when I walk around, so I use a lanyard like teachers wear for their whistle and ID badge and hang the phone around my neck as I walk around while using my hands free headset. In doing so the headset cord never gets hung up and jerked out of its socket. The answering machine section is easy to set up and can be configured to beep once in a while if a new message has been received. This is handy if one has been out of the house and doesn’t think to check messages as soon as they get home. This feature can also be silenced. And finally, additional hand sets can be added, although I’ve not yet utilized this feature. I walk outside the house and most generally, the audio remains clear. All in all, it is the best cordless phone I’ve yet owned.

Handset works well and is really loud,… but answering machine dead after 2 weeks – Master JR – Troy, MI
The phone handset works well and is high quality. The buttons are backlit, the LCD display has large characters, and both are backlit in a bright orange color. The handset has a NORMAL/AMPLIFIED button on the side, which allows for one-click change from normal to impaired hearing operation. It also has separate UP and DOWN arrow buttons on the face to adjust the volume in about 7 steps. The phone earpiece cup is really large so it fits over the ear well. However, out of 20 possible ringtones, only one or two are OK, the others sound like a circus calliope – really annoying sounds.

The phone handset itself sits in the answering machine base where it is recharged. The base unit is very cheap, light plastic, and is so light that when the phone rests in it, it is top-heavy – really bad engineering. When the answering machine did work, it was loud and easy to use. However after only 2 weeks, it stopped working, with a “F” status on the display, which the manual says means “Memory is Full”. Unable to clear the messages, I contacted Thompson/GE for help. Their canned email response told me to call an 800 number. A Tech Support person walked me through a minimal procedure to disconnect the power and batteries, wait 10 minutes and then if that didn’t fix the problem, to send the phone/answering machine back… Not good!

The phone handset is a keeper, however the answering machine/base a BIG loser. Overall, considering the high $$$ cost, I would look around for a better amplified phone.

I bought this phone after having several Panasonics before, some being good, but more recently, some were poor quality. Those manufactured in China are the loosers. Those that had previously been made in Mexico were much better. But other brands had been just as disappointing, so I decided to give Panasonic one more try.

The result? “Pretty good.” So far the base station, two handsets, and an extra handset, have worked flawlessly, though I realize others may not have been so lucky. Sound quality is certainly acceptable. I have no complaints about the ease of use or the battery life. But I haven’t had it all that long, so take that into account. Overall, I’d do it again.

The Panasonic KX-TG9331T DECT 6.0 Expandable Cordless Digital Answering Phone System assures greater protection against eavesdropping for all your calls. DECT 6. 0, an acronym that stands for Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications, is a technology that lets you move freely around your home with long range and amazingly clear sound. Operating in the 1.9 GHz frequency range, your phone will not conflict with other wireless devices such as computer routers, wireless keyboards, microwave ovens, and other common household devices.

Expandable to up to six handsets, you can program each handset to ring at your discretion. Before going to sleep, simply set the bedside handset to night mode so that it won’t ring in your bedroom. Beware – battery and connection problems within a few months – Pleased – New York, NY
I’ve read other reviews and I have to say I have exactly the same problem. Phone worked fine for the first few months. After a while one of the phones wouldn’t connect once in a while. Then it got worse. Then 2 phones. Now all 3. Now none of them work. This set is only about a 12-18 months old. I never had a problem with a Panasonic wireless phone before, but this is horrible. Out of warranty. What a joke. I’m going to do everything I can to never buy a panasonic product again.

This phone is CRAP – AmazonWoman – SF Bay Area
This is absolutely the WORST phone I have ever owned. The battery level will show fully charged and then go instantly to “charge phone for 7 hours” message. If it’s off the base, showing a full charge, it will ring once and then show a message that there’s no connection with the base OR that the battery is dead. This phone is only usable if it’s kept on the base, which, uh, sort of defeats the purpose of a cordless phone. The second handset, kept upstairs in a SMALL 2-story condo, If I push the ’speaker’ button, it instantly loses connection with the base or else goes dead. SHAME ON YOU Panasonic for putting out this phone!! Do you TEST your products? It’s obvious from the number of 1-star reviews that this phone never should have been put on the market.

This phone system was my first DECT 6.0 phone system. It was great for a few weeks or so. The problems I have had are as follows in order they began to occur:

-Phone won’t connect to base on first try
-Phone quits when in the middle of a conversation
-Choppy sound quality
-feedback at base while using the phone.

With the exception of the feedback at the base, these problems are intermittent. The feedback at the base is the only one that is constant. If not for these problems, this would be a great product. But these flaws are to great to ignore.

None of the above would have prevented me from buying another Panasonic product (every manufacturer turns out a lemon now and then), however, my customer service experience will. They promised 6 months ago to send a return box and a voucher for a new phone once they received the return. This was six months ago and I never received anything. Rather than fight them for a new phone that probably will not work, I’ll just avoid their brand.

I could wish this machine was as simple to operate as the machine it replaces. The 1301. Too many buttons—Don’t like the fact that the thing blinks it red light whether it has a message or not.
