Use it to send and receive TTY or Voice Carry Over (VCO) communication place Hearing Carry Over (HCO) calls or for regular voice calls. Get one phone that works for everybody. No need to get different communication devices for the deaf hard of hearing and hearing people in your home or business. The Uniphone serves them all! Just plug it into a standard phone line and an AC power outlet and you’re set for all types of communication: Amplified handset features adjustable volume control providing 0-20 dB gain.Bright 2-line 24-character display makes it easy to read text conversations. Connect a parallel printer using our special cable (Item #8069) and you can also print conversations. Auto-answerer stores both voice and text messages in an 8 K memory. Voice Carry Over (VCO) calls where one person speaks and then reads typed responses are supported 2 ways. These calls can be made through a toll-free relay service or for more privacy directly between 2 Uniphones. Hearing Carry Over (HCO) calls function similarly to VCO calls accommodating a person who hears but cannot speak. Turbo Code technology provides a natural real-time back and forth pace to your calls. Auto ID announces your text calls as coming from a TTY. A relay voice announcer tells those who call you that they have reached a TTY and must use a TTY or dial a relay number to communicate with you and then gives the caller your relay number. Ring flasher visually alerts you to incoming calls. Speed-dialing keys give you fast access to 10 often-dialed numbers plus emergency numbers. Direct connect design allows you to send and receive TTY messages by simply plugging the Uniphone into a standard analog phone jack.
